Well, this update is actually about Nebraska and written from New York since we got back on Friday from our ten day residency and reading of Crossing Over at the Lied Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Spring is in the air…plant and flowers and shows are growing… We made fabulous writing discoveries and know what to focus on next.

The week was a frenzy of rehearsals and rewrites, new songs, etc. The actors took it all graciously and we are so grateful to have had Director Becky Key Boesen, Petra Waldqvist Alisa Belflower and the entire Lied team supporting us in all ways. They have been amazing and understand what we need to do to make Crossing Over the best it can be. A standing ovation from the supportive Lincoln audience – and for a piece still with many kinks and flaws to be worked out – told us that Lincoln, Nebraska also has our back!

Last, but not least, we were delighted to spend time with the wonderful Chris and Kelley Baker who, once again warmly welcomed us into their beautiful home where we had our wonderful writing sanctuary warmed by the hospitality of our hosts!

Below are a couple of links to articles written about Crossing Over as part of the Lied Center’s Grow A Show program.
