Left To Our Own Devices was a high-energy, original, 80-minute, dance musical for young audiences and performers. The show featured a true pop rock score with opportunities for movement styles ranging from hip-hop tap to ballet.

When a group of kids stand to lose their favorite playground, they must “out play” an army of digital Celebri-monsters to save the day! Featuring an infectious score and parts for kids of all ages, this was a show about what happens when kids are Left To Our Own Devices.

Left To Our Own Devices features a score by award winning pop composer/lyricist Stephanie Salzman and bookwriter EllaRose Chary. Salzman has worked with Whitney Houston (Artista/Platinum), 3LW/ Cheetah Girls (Epic/Sony; Platinum), and Faith Hill (Warner Bros). Chary’s work has been featured nationally and internationally, including at Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub, and The NYPL Bruno Walter Auditorium. Both are graduates of the NYU Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at Tisch School of the Arts.

The production was directed by director/choreographer Janine Molinari, artistic director of Dance Molinari NYC/LA. The production also featured the work of Willem Oosthuysen (music director), Victoria Buda (stage manager), Holly Sansom (line producer) and John Emmett O’Brien (line producer). Left To Our Own Devices was a semi-finalist for the Ronald M. Ruble New Play Festival and was featured in Momentum Repertory Company’s New Works Festival in June 2012.
